Tom invites customers and counsel to call him at any time. The law firm of Vial Fotheringham is committed to providing first-rate customer service and good legal advice; as Managing Partner, Tom ensures this. He started his legal career with Vial and Associates in 1993, and returned to Vial Fotheringham's litigation and business practice in Portland after spending 10 years in both private practice and in the consumer goods manufacturing and packaging industries [as a Director, CEO, and General Counsel]. During that time, he gained hands-on experience advising businesses that face additional pressures of family ownership, financial distress or status as a start-up. Tom has prepared and analyzed financial statements for several companies and developed comprehensive operations plans, procedures, and processes. For the last several years, Tom has practiced primarily in complex construction defect litigation for homeowners and condominium associations. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients, pursued insurance claims, and chased developer assets. Tom is committed to providing advice to board members on all aspects of litigation, helping with the [sometimes] difficult relationship between association and owners, handling remediation contracting and repair, and he regularly attends homeowner association meetings to address all of these concerns.Community Involvement:
